I am a New York based actor, writer and multi-disciplinary artist proud to represent my hometown of Rochester. Here, you will find an assortment of forms: Shakespeare & contemporary, comedy & tragedy, real & imagined— which is not to say non-real.

As a white-passing Japanese-American, I often find myself straddling borders, too white for roles connected to my Japanese heritage, but too “other” for white roles. I believe that history is often shaped by those who are not neatly categorized as we are forced to expand our definition.

An individual can only be defined only by what they love. The role of the artist is to illuminate and unite in question: to “comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable” (Finley Peter Dunne— but I gratefully steal this definition from mentor and long-time Geva Theatre artist Skip Greer).

I love baseball. I love America— which is to say what it can be. I love animals to befriend, tofu to eat, and words. I would love to know what you love, too.
